Introduction
You may need to secure your XiP for shipment in event of a hot-swap for repair or to relocate the device. In case of a hot-swap you may not be credited for the return if the malfunctioning printer is not packaged adequately or returned promptly.
Instructions
If you are doing a hot-swap, retain all the packaging materials that were used to ship the replacement for the malfunctioning printer. The return shipping label provided is based on the standard printer box size and weight.
Only the XiP printer body should be included in the packaging unless otherwise instructed. Keep the power supply, build plate, vat, membranes, tool kits and any accessories.
Remove all liquid resin from the printer.
- Remove the Resin Vat Assembly, Build Plate, and power supply cables. Please set these aside and store them as new versions of these will not come with your replacement
- Wrap the Printer with the bag the replacement came in
- Carefully (with 2 people) Lift XiP onto foam cradle in the bottom of the smaller half of the packaging
- Insert cardboard corner protectors between the foam cradle and the cardboard box
- Insert foam protectors in between the cardboard protectors and XiP
- Lay the final foam packaging on top of the printer and apply pressure so it sits level with the large cardboard corner protectors
- Slide the cardboard top on using the 4 corner protectors as a guide
- Slide on the exterior of the packaging, making sure to align the handle cutouts
- Insert plastic handles
- Tape the box closed with packing tape.
Note: XiP does not need to be sent back on a pallet, as it will be a standard UPS shipment
