Operating Environment
The XiP product line is intended for indoor use only. Make sure your workspace is dry, well-ventilated, and dust-free. Set up your printing workspace away from food, drinks, and other edible products. Floors in your printer workspace should be washable in case of resin and solvent spills.
The operating environment of the room can have an impact on your printing success. Choose an indoor location where the ambient temperature is in the range of 68-80°F (20-27°C). We recommend limiting the ambient humidity of the room to a range of 10-70% to ensure the best performance of your resins.
Power Requirements
You will need a conventional 100-240Vac, 50/60Hz grounded power outlet and a surge protector or uninterrupted power supply is recommended.
Lighting
Avoid placing your XiP printer and Wash+Cure unit in direct sunlight and we recommend applying a UV blocking film to windows. This will minimize UV light to prevent unintended curing of resin, and fluorescent or LED lighting is preferred when the workspace.
Stable Work Surface
XiP requires a stable, robust, and level surface. These are essential to provide the best operating experience and highest quality prints.
Spatial Requirements
The XiP is 420 mm (16.5 inches) wide x 350 mm (14 inches) deep x 530 mm (21 inches) tall.
Allow a minimum of 6 inches (150mm) on the the back, and two sides of the printer to provide space for the door to open without obstruction. This ensures proper airflow and access to the cables, USB port, and power switch.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Cleaning Supplies
Safe practices when handling XiP and XiP accessories is extremely important. The following items are absolutely necessary: Nitrile gloves, paper towels, protective glasses rated for 99.9% UVA protection, and Isopropyl Alcohol in a properly labeled squeeze bottle (do not use a spray bottle).
Additional recommended Items: a non-porous lab coat to protect skin from resins, and vapor respirator if recommended by the safety data sheet (SDS) of the resin or solvent.

Unboxing
Warning the XiP is over 65 lbs when packaged up. A team lift is recommended to avoid injury!
Unboxing steps:
- Locate plastic handles on the side of the box and pluck the handle out
- Remove outer cardboard packaging
- Remove and set aside the top foam cover. Top foam should include: Print user guide, power adapter and cable, build plate maintenance tools, usb flash drive, water bottle
- Set aside top foam and remove the remaining foam packaging around the sides of the printer
- Team lift the XiP out of the bottom foam and set printer on stable surface
- Remove anti-static cover of the printer
Leveling the Printer
The printer needs to be leveled to ensure accurate prints and avoid resin spills. There are four leveling feet that can be turned clockwise and counter clockwise to lift and lower the foot. Use a bubble level or a leveling app on a phone and adjust the feet until the printer is confirmed to be level.
Powering on the XiP
XiP has a power connector port on the back, near the power button. The power connector has locating features that guide the user to plug it in properly. Ensure that the locating features are matched and that the flat side of the power adaptor connector is facing upward when plugged in.
A single long press of the power button (2-3 seconds) will power on the printer, and it may take several seconds for the printer to boot. A single short press of the power button will power down the printer.
